Started in 2023, Nadrey is a sweet and nostalgic typeface that carries affection in its forms.
Aware that breaking into type design would be difficult coming from outside the eurocentric ecosystem, I signed in 2025 with ALT-tf, a foundry positioning itself around diversity and representation in type design, to distribute it. Unfortunately, the relationship revealed what many "progressive" Western institutions practice despite their good intentions: extraction disguised as support, savior complex masquerading as partnership, expanding control beyond agreed terms.
I terminated the contract in January 2026. Under the settlement, ALT can continue selling Nadrey Regular until £2309 net is reached, at which point all rights return home, to O'Plérou Studio.
Rather than wait passively, I'm offering a gift to those who help me recover Nadrey faster:
