Killing the Myth that a Typeface Needs a Western Foundry to Have Value

Nadrey is an O’Plérou typeface currently distributed by ALT-tf, a London-based foundry positioned as an alternative to inequality in type design. Yet in practice, the model was identical.

I terminated our agreement in January 2026 and kept the additional weights I developed, because the gap between their positioning and their practice became undeniable. We agreed that ALT continues selling Nadrey Regular, until a net threshold is reached.

So let’s play a game.

The mechanic is direct: Buy Nadrey Regular from their store, send the receipt to contact@oplerou.studio, and receive the four additional weights they don’t own at no cost.

Once Nadrey is liberated, it will be available at no cost to Ivorian individuals and small businesses, and available to license internationally through O’Plérou Studio.
